Brief description of wind power generation system

The composition of the wind power generation system is not directly converted from wind energy into electrical energy, and the transition of mechanical energy is required in the middle. The function is to convert the changing wind energy into frequency, constant voltage alternating current or constant voltage direct current.
The generator system of constant speed and constant frequency is generally relatively simple. There are two types of generators: synchronous generator and squirrel-cage induction generator. The new wind power generation system is a variable speed constant frequency generator system, and its main advantage is that it can maintain a constant optimum tip speed ratio in a wide range of wind speeds during variable speed operation of wind energy. The energy harvested from the wind can be much higher than that of a constant speed wind turbine.
Although the cost of using power electronics to realize variable speed operation is much higher, the cost of electrical parts does not account for a small proportion of large wind turbines. A combination of mechanical methods, electrical methods, and power electronics methods can all achieve continuous variable speed operation.
The most promising is the power electronics method, which consists of a generator and a power electronic conversion device. The motor can be existing in the field. Usually, the power electronic conversion device of the motor includes an AC-DC converter, an AC-AC converter, and the like.
There are many combinations between generators and converters, and the purpose is to obtain high-quality electric energy. There are mainly synchronous generator AC-DC AC systems, magnetic field modulation generator systems, doubly-fed generator systems, and DC power generation systems.
