Bookshelf Classification

The bookshelves in the library can be divided into metal bookshelves and wooden bookshelves according to the material, and the metal bookshelves can be subdivided into single-column, double-column, multi-layer bookshelves, dense bookshelves and sliding bookshelves.

wooden bookshelf

Wooden bookshelf materials include solid wood, wood board, wood core board, particle board, etc., which are processed and formed, painted with paint or pasted with surface decoration materials, which is rich in soft texture. The common form of the library is the vertical type and the base inclined type L-shaped bookshelf, which is convenient for readers to access books and has different types of specifications.

single column

The so-called single-column bookshelf refers to the single-column metal bars on both sides to bear the weight of books on each section of the partition in the horizontal direction. Generally speaking, the height of the bookshelf is more than 200cm, and the top will be connected by tie rods to ensure safety.

Double column type

It refers to two or more pillars on both sides of the bookshelf, which bear the horizontal partition to transmit the load of books. However, in order to enhance the aesthetics, wooden boards are attached to the sides and top of the metal copy column bookshelf.

stacked bookshelf

In order to make full use of the limited space to store a large number of books in the library, it is a good method to use the sturdy and durable characteristics of steel materials to provide display books for the stacked bookshelves. However, each country has its own regulations on the specifications of bookshelves. For example, in the United States, the stacked bookshelf has a net height of 2280mm per floor, and each floor is divided into 5~7 sections; while in European countries such as the United Kingdom, the net height of each floor is 2250mm. The width of one side of the board is 200mm, and the width of the pillar is 50mm.
